China has urged India to withdraw all troops from the border. According to the Chinese narrative, India has to pull back its troops that have “illegally entered China” or else the country would defend its territory at all costs, Xinhua reports.

Wu Qian, spokesperson for the Ministry of National Defense said at a press conference, “The Chinese border troops have taken initial counter measures at the site and will step up targeted deployment and training.”

Mr Wu demands that the Indian troops crossed the border (China-India) and impeded Chinese forces to construct roads in Donglang.

“It’s easier to shake a mountain than the PLA.”- Spokesperson Wu

India,  however, demands that the region where Chinese army intends to construct roads belong to Bhutan. But China has their narrative and accuses India of interfering in their affairs.

Mr. Wu said that to deescalate the tension, India has to withdraw its troops if any dialogue the country expects. Wu Qian warns India of shaking any ” impractical illusions” off that would delay the peace process.

Wu says, “We strongly urge India to take solid measures to correct its mistakes and desist from provocation.”

Boasting of People’s Liberation Army’s (PLA) history, Spokesperson Wu said, “It’s easier to shake a mountain than the PLA.”

India’s Minister of External Affairs Sushma Swaraj called on China to pull back troops together with India to sit on the negotiation table.

This newly issued Chinese statement, however, warns further escalation of the ongoing crisis.
